This summer, music will once again fill Les Garrigues with a new edition of Guitarfest, a festival committed to artistic excellence, cultural heritage, and local connection. From July 4 to August 23, more than twenty events —concerts, guided tours, tastings and special experiences— will take place in landmark locations such as churches, wineries, museums and prehistoric cave sites in towns like El Soleràs, La Granadella, Torrebesses, Juneda, Arbeca or L’Espluga Calba.

The program kicks off on Friday, July 4 at the Church of the Assumption in El Soleràs with Duo Martí & Martínez, performing a selection of traditional Catalan songs. On Saturday, July 5, the event moves to Mas Blanch i Jové Winery in La Pobla de Cérvoles, with a visit to the “Vineyard of the Artists,” a wine tasting, and a concert by guitarist Emma Campàs.

In the following days, highlights include youth guitar orchestra exchanges, recitals by award-winning international artists, performances in cultural spaces and shows blending tradition with innovation. The lineup includes names such as Carles Trepat, Mnemòsine, Dagnac & Cardoso Duo, Darío González, Pedro Martínez Trio, and ensembles like Ensamble Musicantes and Astrolabi, among many others.

Featured venues include the Catalan Olive Oil Culture Centre, the Rock Art Site of Roca dels Moros, the Molí del Bep de Canut in Torrebesses, or the October 1st Park in Juneda, which will host activities that blend music, landscape, heritage, and gastronomy, with oil and wine tastings and guided tours prior to concerts.

One of the key moments will be the final of the Pujol Competition on Sunday, July 13, in La Granadella, showcasing emerging talents in classical guitar. The festival also continues its educational mission with the Pujol Campus 2025, featuring a group concert by young musicians in Torrebesses on July 18.

With styles ranging from classical to flamenco, rural blues to medieval music, Guitarfest invites audiences to explore Les Garrigues through a carefully curated, locally rooted and globally inspired artistic journey.
